Thorndon Kitchen Addition
When Mark and Nikki approached us to design and build their kitchen, as the centre point of their Thorndon home addition, we jumped at the chance. After tossing a few different ideas around, the final decision to go with the black cabinetry and contrasting solid timber fronts, really does stand out as the right move. The kitchen sits at the heart of the home, and has large sliding doors opening directly onto the courtyard area beyond. The room needed to complement the dining and lounge spaces that sat adjacent, whilst being a functional space in its own right.
The glass window splash back, running alongside the stainless bench top is definitely one of the stand out features. The island boasts a granite bench top and black tapware. Hiding inside the black, soft closing drawers are areas with charging points for phones and tablets, as well as internal drawers and matching black cutlery trays. A purpose built scullery, and coffee area finish off the space.
It was a pleasure to work with Mark and Nikki, from the design through to install, and we hope they enjoy many great meals here!
